RYTHM Gives Scholarships to Tsunami Victims in Banda Aceh
17 October 2005
RYTHM Foundation led by Mr. Bernhard Mayer, Chairman of GOLDQUEST and Trustee of RYTHM Foundation, along with Ms. Wita Dahlan, Corporate Communications Manager of QUESTNET Indonesia, visited Banda Aceh and Lhokseumawe form Sep 25-29 to present financial aid to students affected by the aftereffects of Tsunami.
After their initial visit soon after the Tsunami last year to help assist the rehab programs in Banda Aceh m this second visit was made in collaboration with Rotary Internationalin Pforziem, Germany. Mr. Mayer, while making the donation told the students, guardians, parents and school representatives "We need to make sure that Aceh's children do not lose their right to a formal education because of the catastrophe that devastated their land. In line with our main mission, we feel it is most appropriate that we do what we can to help lighten some of their problems."
95 students from Preliminary, Junior and High Schools in Banda Aceh, Lhokseumawe and Medan received tuitions fee for a one-year period. Most of them are orphans and many have lost their homes and families in the devastation wrecked by the Tsunami. There students from Lhokseumawe and Medan who received the aid were relocated from Banda Aceh since there were not enough schools in Banda Aceh that could accommodate them.
An English teacher from MTSN Banda Aceh, thanked RYTHM Foundation: "We are grateful for the donation from the RYTHM Foundation. It will have a great impact on the students affected by the tsunami and surely will become the catalyst required to revitalise our educational activity."
RYTHM Foundation plans to continue this scholarship for a period of at least three years.

Subject: Update from Indonesia
05 Jan
2005
In Indonesia, as part of the relief operations
for the tsunami-affected victims of Banda Aceh region, RYTHM Foundation
supported by QuestNet has been actively involved in the rehabilitation
process.
Acting immediately on 27 December 2004, we
have announced to core leaders and Independent Representatives that
we are coordinating donations. Soon after we managed to gather two
large shipments of medicines and clothes that have been sent to
Aceh already.
We are also supporting the IRs living in
the Medan area with the evacuation by helping Aceh residents out
of that area. Currently, we are supporting two leaders in Medan
who are housing 50 IRs and their families as well as 30 refugees
from Aceh respectively. Today, leaders will leave Medan for Aceh
with supplies for the third time, hopefully bringing more refugees
back to Medan with them. With the help of our leaders, we have managed
to get in touch with several IRs in Banda Aceh and Lhokseumawe,
and have been able to give them first aid donations directly.
On 9 January, Mr. Bernie Mayer, GoldQuest
Chairman, Mr. Mike Tham, QuestNet Country Manager in Indonesia and
Ms. Wita Dahlan, Corporate Affairs Manager will depart for Medan
to visit the refugees and seek possible interviews with orphaned
children seeking foster parenting by us. They will then fly to Banda
Aceh on 12-14 January to distribute relief materials to IRs and
survivors who still remain in Aceh. They will buy supplies while
in Medan and transport it by truck to Aceh.

RYTHM Foundation rises to battle Tsunami
28 Dec
2004
As all of you are aware, the recent tragedy
of the earthquake in Indonesia and the resultant tsunami tidal waves
have left a trail of destruction in many of the countries within
the Indian Ocean region. Countries such as Indonesia, India, Sri
Lanka and Thailand, in which we have representative offices and
a prominent network are among those affected by the natural disaster.
In this hour of need, true to the spirit of RYTHM, we have risen
to help the victims of the tsunami tidal wave attacks in South India,
Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
India
QuestNet India is currently raising funds for those affected by
the disaster through the QuestNet Relief Fund Rupee for Rupee Program.
For every Rupee contributed by an IR or employee, QuestNet India
will contribute an equal amount. Clothes, medicines, basic necessities
are all being collected as well, which will be donated to the Tamil
Nadu Chief Minister's relief fund for aid operations.
Indonesia
QuestNet Indonesia is also raising funds through donations from
leaders and Independent Representatives around Indonesia to help
those affected in the Banda Aceh area, a village nearest to the
epicentre of the earthquake. The money raised will be handed over
to a developmental organisation for rehabilitation work and will
be monitored by a QuestNet representative.
Sri Lanka
One of the worst countries affected by the tsunami, RYTHM Foundation
comes forward to help Sri Lanka by way of donations to start rehabilitation
and rebuilding. An immediate cash donation of US $50,000 is being
made to help start immediate relief operations. Another sizeable
donation is being made towards medium-term plans for rebuilding.
A longer-term commitment of US $1 million to support a rehabilitation
programme is also being made.
Thailand
Phuket and its surrounding areas in Thailand have also been disrupted
by the tsunami, wiping out probably the largest number of tourists
to the sea. With thousands of people still missing, QuestNet Thailand
is currently accepting donations for the Tsunami Relief Fund, which
can be transferred to the account below or handed to the Country
Manager. The office is also raising funds, clothes, medicines and
other necessities through a special donation box in the office.
This is the time to rise to the true meaning
of RYTHM. Therefore, come and Raise Yourself To Help Mankind.
